Welcome to the newest edition of Legacy’s Home Tour. We’re excited to share Melissa’s home and the amazing transformation she and her husband Rudy have created since they purchased their 1970 colonial fixer-upper home in 2015. They fell in love with the vast space the home had to offer and the floor plan, as well as the older home feel and how well the homes were built better and sturdier back then. Their home had been on the market for 3 years before they found and fell in love with all of its potential even though they knew it was a lot of work ahead. After watching Joanna and Chip on their TV show for over a year, Melissa felt they had the determination and skills to take on the challenge! Both having full-time jobs, including Melissa who is an administrative assistant for a charter school has a mountain of other duties handling all special projects for the 725 student facility, they didn’t hesitate to take on this huge project. Well, Rudy might have been a little hesitant lol, but Melissa will be the first to tell you that he absolutely loves the outcome and ready to take on more!
We’re especially excited to showcase Melissa’s home with all of her holiday décor/decorations which has been done in beautiful taste and class. Her home exemplifies the special touches of grace and class during the holiday season. Her formal living area is elegant and filled with her love of Legacy décor making it not feel too formal when entertaining in the space.
Most of Melissa and Rudy’s time at home relaxing is spent in their family room along with the adorable miniature Schnauzer they call Sasha Bear. As you can see, it’s been beautifully decorated to be not only gorgeous but also comfortable and cozy to spend their time together as well as entertaining family and friends.
With the open floor plan to their kitchen, they have a stylish table for 6 to entertain at for smaller gatherings, but when the crowd is larger and more formal, they have the beautiful formal dining room to flow into. I just love all of her Christmas décor she’s added to make each space it’s only special wonderland in awe of everyone that visits!
The warm color palette they have chosen is a gorgeous combination with a touch of traditional and farmhouse décor, making it an inviting space to enjoy and share. The many extra touches from Legacy are particularly special, including many furniture pieces, décor items and wall décor. The master bathroom is another of their favorite spaces, decorated with a farmhouse style with such a class of style and beauty! The vast space of each room is truly one of the highlights of their home!
Their guest room is gorgeous and the perfect combination of farmhouse décor to make their guests feel right at home with a hotel suite vision. The adorable bathroom with the farmhouse décor is a great combination of different selections brought together for the perfect smaller space! Who wouldn’t want to stay in this gorgeous space and chances are, they might want to stay longer than expected!

Melissa and Rudy still have a long list of “to do’s they still want to renovate, which is definitely hard to believe after viewing these stunning pictures! You have done an amazing job turning your older home into a gorgeous work of art with your talents!
